Tignes is a lovely place in summer. The lake in Tignes le Lac is busy with sailors, pedaloes and other water craft. There is a spectacular slide into the water at one end. Cows dot the hillsides with their bells jangling. Wildflowers are everywhere. There is a golf course which is reputed to be the highest in Europe where you can play golf watched by the numerous marmots. There are tennis courts, archery ranges, football pitches, a very busy stables with horses and ponies of all sizes and endless miles of walks.
